New ways painting

White bunny in tall grass with flowers and leaves on canvas with textures

New ways, acrylic, wood and textile on canvas

It’s been a while since I painted so I feel a bit out of place. I know I want to create, but nothing shows up. I stop and start to think what if I use some plaster to make the background smooth and maybe add these pieces of wood.

Why not? Nothing really comes up and I still want to do something. It felt weird to add on these things but it definitely brought me out of my comfort zone. While I waited for it to dry, I started to think of new paths. New ways. They can be scary but beautiful in a way you can’t predict.

I drew a bunny lying down, but then I saw it look up. Wondering what is out there. So I redrew it and went with what I saw next.

New can be scary and hard but it can also be hopeful, inspirational, exciting, and so much more. Roadblocks can stop us or redirect us. Challenges can make us feel defeated or unstoppable. If we let our doubt control our perspective, everything can be tough. If we move past that and see possibilities, we can look at the situations with freedom. Now everything is possible, and all the paths are open.

You may choose. You can choose. One life to live for you. One life to create, do, try, and experience all the things you want, even if they might seem crazy. You don't have to follow all the rules. Create your own rules and live by your values. Now when something seems too challenging, ask yourself does it add value to your life? Does it align with your chosen values? If so, follow it. If not, look and try something else.
